When you only know one thing
When you only know one thing, congratulations, you are likely to be a very powerful person.
A lot of principles, I basically learned from anime, including this principle. And through the experience of the people around me and my own experience, I increasingly believe this principle is indeed the truth.
During my college time, there was a classmate, we usually don’t see her that much, because she basically is not in any classes. Other than showing up during the exam or when the lecturer is taking attendance, the rest of the time she is nowhere to be found.
Some lecturers are very strict, they will take attendance a few times during the classes.
In my impression, she has always been a non-studious, lively, like to hang out with people in the society.
Until the day of the internship, I chatted with her once. At that time, I only know how powerful it is to focus on doing one thing.
She said that in fact, the first day she went to college, she was sure, as long as she able to get a diploma and a bachelor's degree is good enough, the most important thing is to get an accounting certificate before graduation, and she did it.
She got the intermediate certificate, the driving license, the rest of the time, traveled in various places, met different people, feel the experience of others.
In her words, when you wake up, I watched the sunrise at the seaside and preparing to go to bed; while you were watching the movie, I was getting my driver's license.
She had one more word that touched my heart. “You all said you went to college to study, but how many of you have been to the library, several times in four years?" Then you say that you go to college to know different people and grow your own knowledge, but I don't learn anything from you. All you have to do is just study, do nothing, have no plans? This is the reason why I am not in the dorm all day and not going to class.”
Indeed, how many people's college life, either dwelling in the dormitory watching tv series, or doing nothing, playing games and so on, the university is basically a decadent symbol.
And those who just want to do one thing, have done it all.
Of course, when you get to college, you will feel free and want to try everything.
Want to travel, want to learn photography, want to learn to dance, want to learn a new language, want to learn guitar.
My roommate had learned all these before, dancing in the class, bought the guitar, but after graduated, he sold his guitar to the junior, he also bought a skateboard. In short, we have no clear goal.
However, he was always fond of dancing and that he could be quite self-disciplined in dancing.
Because the need of losing weight, every time after eating, he will start dancing, dance in the animation club, and later into the ministry, dance is still his specialty and got everyone's approval.
Probably later, he knew that be persistent in doing one thing is not easy, so no matter what he does in the future, he basically does it for dance.
Soon after graduating from college, I heard that he had opened a dance studio, now other than teaching others to dance, he will perform around with his team, but also can only rely on this to support himself.
Many people may think that just do one thing is simply bad and can’t do it.
When you say this, it means that the thing you want to do now, you probably don't love at all.
If you really love one thing, you are always willing to do and will think about it all the time.
I've seen kids who like to play games, and that's really like it. Mom and Dad said only can play after finish homework. After school, he quickly finished the homework; Parents said to need to get at least an A in exam only can play. Because of the love of games, he studies hard and asks someone to teach him.
If we have this kind of passion for one thing, wouldn't we do it well?
People who involved in their favorite areas are very accomplished because they love the things and they have invested a great deal of enthusiasm. It can be said that they will do whatever they can, all for their own favorite areas.
So, if one day, you in blogging, can say, "I know nothing but blogging", then congratulations, you are probably already a master of blogging.
