That is interesting. So gunpowder is made from decomposing matter? Would it not be cheaper to use faeces or urine instead of dead bodies?
I believe there's a more sterile way of making it? It is quite difficult picturing gun makers stirring urine in huge vats in order to make bullets.

The dead bodies would usually be burned and used as carbon for the gun powder but could be replaced with wood and other sources of carbon.
At that time Salt Peter was a difficult thing to manufacture chemically as it only naturally occurs in very specific conditions nowadays the elements needed can be obtained in a different way so no more vats of urine and manure but if somehow we experience a dystopian apocalypse know that you can make gunpowder from the bodies of dead raiders and your piss hahaha
