Hey there and welcome to a way to happiness

Our account tells the story of a journey we all share: The constant search for happiness in this life. But we tell it from two completely opposite perspectives:
While one is a happy minded optimist, the other fights the face of depression and self destruction. A very contrasting couple.

By sharing our story we want to raise awareness and help make others understand mental illnesses like depression. And give fellow depressed people hope. The hope that we can all find a way to our happiness.

We‘re Kimchi and Gumbo. Aliases dedicated to our most beloved soulfoods: The dishes that have the wonderful power to always light up our world, no matter how dark the days are.

Kimchi is the optimistic one. A beautiful open minded and happy individual. Just turned 30 and living her life to the fullest. She is the „the glass is always as full as you want it to be“ person. She helps Gumbo through his hardest times.

Gumbo is being dragged down by darkness. Years of therapy helped putting a bandage on a still open wound. But it starts the wear out. He thinks, that he just won’t find happiness in this world anymore. No matter how hard he tries. As he started to have suicidal dreams, Kimchi and Gumbo decided together to leave everything behind to search for happiness.

Whenever you read Kimchi in the headline, you‘ll know it’s her healthy and positive view on the world. Gumbo tells his story of fighting the forces of the dark.
