In a heroic scene similar to the scenes of the famous Spider-Man, a migrant from Mali rescued a child who almost fell from the fourth floor of a building in Paris, prompting French President Emmanuel Macaron to grant him French citizenship in recognition of his bravery and heroic attitude.

The president, Emmanuel Macaron, received an immigrant from Mali at the Elysee Palace to thank him for rescuing a child who was stuck in the balcony of a fourth floor apartment north of Paris and decided to grant him French citizenship.

French media praised the immigrant, after climbing the front of a building in Paris, to save the 4-year-old boy.

The video, which depicts the rescue, was circulating through social media on a large scale.

In less than a minute, Mamudu climbed up from one balcony to another, holding the child, while a neighbor was on a nearby balcony trying to prevent the baby from falling.

After meeting the young man, Macron announced that he would grant French citizenship, personally thank him and give him the Medal of Courage, and also decided to give him the post of fireman.

The incident happened Saturday evening on a street north of Paris.

"I saw the child hanging out of the balcony, I did not think, and I saved him," he said when he saw a crowd of people in front of the building.

"When I caught him, I spoke to him and asked him: 'Why did you do this?' But he did not answer me."

Some Facebook users have posted a video of the dramatic position.

"A team of firefighters arrived at the scene to find that the child had been rescued," the Paris fire department said. "Fortunately, there was someone with fitness and courage to save the child," the spokesman said.

Local media quoted officials as saying the boy's parents were not at home at the time. The police questioned the father about leaving his son without care. It is believed that the mother was not in Paris at the time of the accident.

The mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, also praised the 22-year-old's heroism and said she had phoned him to thank him.

Hidalgo described him as the "Spider-Man of Area 18", referring to a Paris area that witnessed the rescue.

"We congratulate Mamudu for his courageous behavior, which saved the lives of a child," Hidalgo said.
