THE INFLUENCE OF MONEY ON THE SOCIETY & STEEMIT
Around the world, much respect is given to the wealthy ones and preferential treatment are given to them wherever they find themselves. Taking Africa as a case study, most men with money are being worshiped by the common and whenever they are given an opportunity to address a crowd, everyone listens up as if their lives depends on what the rich man is about to say. Before I go further, What is money?
According to wikipedia
Money is any item or verifiable record that is generally accepted as payment for goods and services and repayment of debts in a particular country or socio-economic context.
Money holds a great deal in one's personality on the society which is sometimes determines one's influence on that community, people easily run to you for financial advice because they see you as a point of success they wish to attain.
Haven't you noticed the high percentage of minnows on the post of whales and dolphins. They got such influence here on steemit because they invested into Steem with money and the return of their investment is paying already. Investing much on the needed steem power to stay at the top of the chains. The witnesses can relate.
All across the globe, politicians need money to stay relevant in the political sphere of that community.

Money is good, but the unintended consequences of having excessive lust for it largely outweighs the benefits or good side of it.
