Capitalism gone mad - publicity for loan sharks

Stay away! Avoid! It's a trap! Red flag! Run the other way!"

What else to do when hiding behind words like "democracy" and "economic freedom" UK allowed loan sharks to trade and prosper?... And it is still going on.

“They give loansharks a bad name...”
QuickQuid (for those who do not know “quid” is an informal word for “British pound”, as the Americans have “buck” for dollar).

QuickQuid present themselves as a company focused on helping the regular working man and his beautiful family...

The ad is not only beyond ridicule (really, big deal: no hot water. Wash with cold water? Or put the kettle on, throw in the mix some soap and sorted?), but also low budget too: seems to be filmed on a Saturday as everyone else is either cutting the grass, having a stroll, pushing the pram, while the “family” are all getting ready for work... This is truly horrific: I remember waking up on a few Saturdays and dressing up for school, but there were always the parents to kindly remind me what day it was and I could also rely on my brother for his kind remarks of “are you f***ing nuts?! It’s the weekend!!!”.
Boring, silly, cheap! But not their interest rate, though!

Misfortune strikes and people have nothing else to do than to borrow a few hundred from this company (assuming they have tried borrowing from friends or relatives, first? Neighbours? It’s a few hundred quid for flipper’s sake!). With this interest per year, if you get a loan and forget about it at the end of one year you would owe 12-13 times the sum borrowed.

Long story short: poor customer service, greedy and true to their name: quick to destroy the credit score of their clients at every opportunity.
No wonder they have one star and pretty much all customers one way or another are advising to not get into any binding agreement with companies like these: https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/www.quickquid.co.uk

"Sunny" - because your money brightens my day
Sunny is another one. They said that 13 sounds better. The number of bad luck and the number which will get you into debt: 13 hundred percent interest minus 1. For just 1299% interest you should “stress not”, as their ad’s subliminal message says: you will borrow some cash to fix your bike and end up with a truck being sent your way to empty your home.

I especially like the one below, as you would really feel you have just been f*cked by a bear when yelled at by one of their representatives to “show me the money!” with such a wide grin on their face that would put Cuba Good Junior to shame.

But the thing that trumps it all is the washing machine ad. The bandana guy, the way he walks in and his smirk says it all: “Once in our pocket; always in our pocket. We got you by the balls. Life’s good; life’s sunny.”

"The circle of life. You've been free, now you're working for us." Wink.
