How to stablish an Active Presence on LinkedIn for Strong Positioning in the Job Markets

A Finance Manager asked me this week, how to develop an active presence at LinkedIn to the effect of market exposure in his Job Search for the European Job Market.

My advice was as follows:

If you want to post articles, use https://steemit.com to create and publish your posts, and then share the link in whatever social media you want. Make sure you don´t forget to point to your LinkedIn Profile .
Audit & Clean your LinkedIn Network.
Make a habit of reading daily your LinkedIn TimeLine in search of job posts generated by your Network as well as good content where you can comment or share.
Make sure you process new connections at time line that you feel have the potential to take you to your next job, specially other Managers, Recruiters & Headhunters in your targeted location.
If you are going to participate in a given post, make sure your input is relevant, concise, precise and to the point, and make sure is useful content and not just gramblings
If you find good Job Posts that does not interest you, share them by making a comment and targeting potential referrals. This will produce double effect: The Headhunter will thanks you, and other Candidates will appreciate your cooperation. Job Search is a matter of team work and referrals.
Send a Monthly Communication to your Network: Make sure content is relevant to your audience. If they don´t like to be reached, get rid of the connection. In that way, you can really know what you have.
Use Google Chrome Automated News Feeds to hunt for good articles to be share.
The more you publish and interact, the more you will be known. Make sure you have a decent photo and a very good headline + critical first summary paragraph.
Linking vs Commenting: Liking will distribute the post your reading to your audience. Commenting will allow all visitors to see you as well as to be noticed by the poster. In liking you photo get buried and no visitor will know about your existence.
