My Pool Is a Liability? (4 Potential Causes)
Having a pool is a great selling feature but you must take proper care of the pool to keep it from being a selling liability.
Some homeowners do their pool maintenance completely wrong which can cause leaks and skin irritations for those using the pool.
4 Things NOT TO DO:
Wrong chemicals: Using the wrong balance of chemicals can irritate the eys, skin, and deteriorate the pool itself.
Not Cleaning the Filters: Plan on changing filters 1x a month. Always have one as a spare because it's easy to neglect this without having surplus supplies.
Some only service the pool in the Hot Season: Plan on yearly pool maintenance. The spring is a great time for a pool inspection focusing on the pipes and tears to the lining. In the fall, complete a pool winterized.
Not putting up a fence: This prevents unneeded liability. It keeps both animals and children out of the pool when unattended. In some states, this is mandatory.
That's your pool? Nice!
This was from Pixabay. I went the easy route and my house is across the street from where the clubhouse and pool will me. Here is a view from my home office to the clubhouse currently being built. Next year, I expect to be enjoying the pool which will be built behind the clubhouse.
Very smart! lol
Maintenance or not. In Columbia SC when it reaches 100 degrees a pool is a great way to enjoy the day.
