Of course there is love that fades and thee is love that lasts, say forever.

Whether love last for only while, a long time or forever depends on the kind of love and to whom it I been directed. While this is not only the case, the reaction of the person being loved would also go a long way in determining its longevity or brevity.

If the person you're showing love to is unresponsive or not reciprocating the love for no just reason, it is only natural for that such love would fade away with time. Compared to love for someone who appreciates and respects it.

Also, if you stop being n to a person what you previously were, the love would also normally fade away. Take for instance someone you wanted to marry but ended up not getting married to such a person, the love you have for such a person would fade away with time due to the realisation of the fact that you are not going to be together.

So, yes as much as love can last for a long time, it can also fade away.
