If you consider yourself a world traveller or maybe you’re a keen gamer, you have likely visited Macau - a 55 minute ferry ride from Hong Kong. You may have feasted upon the many sights and sounds it has to offer; take a wander down The Cotai Strip, or people watch in Senado Square whilst sampling local cuisine. Perhaps you played some games in one of the many casino’s.

Whatever your reason to visit Macau, it’s bound to be a memorable one!

In preparation for a trip, we often take to Google to find out which are the best restaurants, the top tourist attractions to visit, etc. What you don’t want to do is leave Macau without knowing some great facts about it - something TripAdvisor doesn’t list.

The first casino hotel, and Macau's oldest, opened in 1970 - “The Casino Lisboa”.
