Xylocopa violácea, en Venezuela le conocen como “abejorro” comparado con una abeja es muy grande y algo tenebroso, se pudo conocer que ese gran sonido reconocido como “zumbido” no es porel movimiento de las alas y el aire sino que es producto de la fuerza de sus músculos, muchos científicos físicos debaten sobre su masa corporal y sus alas que impresiona que la aerodinámica no debería permitirles volar.
