Asian ladybeetle / Asiatischer Marienkäfer - (Harmonia axyridis)
A few days ago I had discovered a small birch tree that was completely infested with aphids on all branch tips. After a search on the internet I grabbed black tea (strong and 15 minutes brewing time) with which I sprayed all infested parts. After 2 days, almost all aphids disappeared.
Now I have looked again and discovered a whole colony of Asian ladybirds in the larval stage. The only beetle flew away, so there is no picture of it. Some of the larvae have now pupated and some have already hatched. With great zeal they are eradicating the remaining aphids. My pictures show the current state of things on the tree.
Vor ein paar Tagen hatte ich einen kleinen Birkenbaum entdeckt, der an allen Zweigspitzen vollkommen mit Blattläusen befallen war. Nach einer Recherge im Internet griff ich zu schwarzem Tee (stark und 15 Minuten Ziehzeit) mit dem ich alle befallen Teile eingesprüht habe. Nach 2 Tagen waren dann so gut wie alle Blattläuse verschwunden.
Nun habe ich erneut hingeschaut und eine ganze Kolonie von Asiatischen Marienkäfern im Larvenstadium entdeckt. Der einzige Käfer ist mir allerdings davongeflogen, so dass es kein Bild von ihm gibt. Einige der Larven haben sich inzwischen verpuppt und einige sind auch bereits geschlüpft. Mit großem Eifer sind sie dabei die restlichen Blattläuse zu vertilgen. Meine Bilder zeigen den aktuellen Stand der Dinge am Baum.

I was going to put bread crumbs around my apple trees this year to attract birds to eat the ants that do the aphid farming but this year I haven't had that problem.
both of the ladybugs and the damselfly eat much aphids
but I've seen the damselfly eat it's poop, too hahaha
must tastes like sweet aphids, too
edit: ants seem to love maple so much
they bully all sorts of it with their black aphid plague
do you also collect the larva and move them to some of your plants with aphids?
I do but not all of it - have to observe balance

I am just watching, no adjustments to mother nature, I think they know best where to go :)
As I killed all aphids with black tea it was a natural thing and then the ladybugs arrived to make the rest.
There are some more plants with this aphids, I will take a close look what happens next.

No, they are not eating the leaves only the aphids.

Er muß stark sein und 15 Minuten ziehen lassen. Diese Drogendosis überlebt keine Laus und die Pflanze freut sich.

Es wäre sehr schmerzhaft, den ganzen Garten zu infizieren ... Wie gut du die gleiche Natur benutzt hast, um es zu kontrollieren, obwohl du wieder den schwarzen Tee anwenden musst. Es ist zwar nicht zu leugnen, dass der Käfer auf den Fotos sehr gut gelaufen ist.
