The worst prisoners. (Life sentence)

in #mafia8 years ago (edited)

The scariest place for a person is prison. There are no friends or relatives. A prison is where criminals live during their sentence,  after that they go back into the society and they get a chance to start a new life.

But there is a prison where there is no way out. It's a place where maniacs, brutal killers, pedophiles and terrorists serve their life sentence. Not even one prisoner was able to escape or somehow get free. There is only one way out and it is to the cemetery.

Life sentence exists in a lot of countries and Russia is one of them. But 70 countries still have death penalty. There are a lot of arguments whether it is good or bad. I think death penalty and life sentence are both hard enough,  but which one is more scary? There were a lot of discussions on this topic but there is no correct answer.

I'll tell you about the lives of life sentenced prisoners in Russia

Prisoners live in pairs, the only people who are alone in their cells are man-eaters. They live in special cells that look like one cell inside of the other, so the prisoner is separated from the walls by the bars.

The prisoners are treated as rough as possible. When the cell is opened by the jail warden the prisoner should stay in a certain position. He should bend down, separate his fingers, close his eyes, mouth should be opened widely, so the inspector could easily see that the prisoner doesn't have any forbidden things. They move inside the building only in handcuffs, in this special position and even blindfolded while three guards and a dog are watching them. The life sentence prisoners have nothing to lose that is why the jail wardens pay extra attention to them.

 Here is their schedule.
6 am - they get up
6.00-6.15 am - they make their beds
6.15-6.30 am - they do morning exercises
6.30-7.00 am - breakfast
7.00-7.30 am - they clean up their cells
7.30-8.00 am - their cells get checked
8.30-9.30 am - doctor visits and checks them
10.00 am - 7.00 pm - they go for a walk when their turn comes
12.00-12.30 pm - lunch
5-5.30 pm - dinner
8.00-8.40 pm - evening check up
8.40-9.40 pm - personal time
9.40-9.55 pm - they get ready to sleep
10.00 pm they go to bed

Laying down or even sitting on the beds during day time is strictly prohibited. And it is a real challenge for the prisoners, a lot of them complain about it. The prisoners don't work and they stay in their cells all day. You can only sit on a stool that is attached to the floor. At 10 pm prisoners go to bed, but they can't relax ,they sleep with  the lights on, their hands can't be under the blanket and they are not allowed to cover their heads. And each cell has a video camera, so a Jair warden can constantly watch the prisoners. There is a photo of the prisoner, his short biography and information about his crime on each cell door.

Food is delivered to the cells on a special tray.

 All prisoners get medical help.

There are five prisons for prisoners with life sentence in Russia.
"Black dolphin" in the town of  Sol-Iletsk. There are 700 prisoners: serial killers, man-eaters, terrorists. 3500 people died because of those prisoners only.

This is one of the prisoners, VADIMIR NIKOLAEV. HE KILLED A PERSON IN A FIGHT WHEN HE WAS DRUNK, THEN HE CUT THE BODY AND ATE IT.

Eugeniy Nagornuj killed 11 people. He is a man-eater.

Alexey Pichugin is ex-boss of a security company "UCOS". He is guilty of contract murders.

Vladimir Mukhankin is a maniac who killed 8 people.

This is "White Swan" in Solikamsk.  There are 300 prisoners with life sentence.

 Here are some of them

Ex-member of the Council of the Federation Igor Izmestiev, who is guilty of 14 contract murders and 5 attempted homicides.

A deputy of legislative assembly from Saint Petersburg Yury Shutov is guilty of contract murders and abductions.

Adam Dekkushev is an organizator of the explosions of houses in Moscow and Volgodonsk in 1999

Vologodski puatak (ognennuj island) has 192 prisoners.

Black eagle in Lozva has 48 prisoners.

400 prisoners live in "Polar Owl" in Khari settlement.

Ex-major of MIA Denis Evsukov killed 2 people and wounded 7 more.

Alexander Pichuzhkin nicknamed Bitsevki maniac killed 40 people.

There are around 1500 prisoners with life sentence in Russia.

To cut a long story short, they all committed the same crime,  the only difference is in the number of people they killed. Life sentence is the same as death penalty but longer in time. Death sentence is forbidden in Russia, it was substituted by life sentence. I don't know if it is good or bad, I'm not going to judge and the result is really the same for the prisoners.

That's ridiculous. I guess it's all relative, countries with harsher living conditions are going to have harsher prisons. The Scandinavian countries have the least harsh prisons, yet they have the lowest recidivism rate. The US has the most prisoners, yet every day men are released after serving 15-20 years, because they were found innocent of the crimes they had been convicted of decades ago. Should prison conditions be harsher knowing hundreds, if not thousands of innocent men are behind bars?
