Pokemon Charmander Inspired Makeup

Has anyone sat down and listened to a seven year old explain Pokemon? Ok, have you ever sat down, listened with full attention and actually UNDERSTOOD when a seven year old explained Pokemon? Really?! You are a far better parent than I......I just don't understand and my attention span gets lost somewhere between Jiggly Puff's pink fluff and some snoring turtle that has a fire on his tail, or is it a squirting turtle?.....or something to that effect. I just don't know.....but I do know that Caleb adores Pokemon and his most favorite character is Charmander, or is it Charzard? Or maybe Charmeleon?

Anyways, today's makeup is inspired by the little orange lizard that has fire on his tail. I think his name is Charmander....so let's just go with that, ok?

I think he is just the cutest little character. I know absolutely nothing about him, but he's Caleb's favorite and so I decided to do a look that inspired by him. When I mention doing "inspired looks" based off of characters, I will always make a look that I feel comfortable leaving my house wearing. So you will NOT see me doing looks that are like "face painting" type. So just so you kind of get an idea as to what I mean when I say "inspired by".

So let's start with what I used:

I have the Coastal Scents 88 Pallet that is chocked full of different and very bright colors. I am not sure where to get this pallet other than Amazon, but it's very in-expensive. I believe the retail is around $16 US dollars.

On my cheeks I used Milani's Coralina and for my lips I used Revlon's Peach Me. I thought it would be best to stick with the coral-y, orangish colors on my lips and cheeks, and I actually loved how they looked with my eye makeup.

Ok, this is going to be a VERY long photo post. I was going to do a collage of photos, but you just can't see what I am doing in that small of pictures. So here we go...

First apply concealer to your eye lids to help make the colors bright and vibrant.

Next use a light orange color in your crease.

Go to a darker orange shade and apply in your crease, just a hair below the first orange. You will be making all of the colors blend and that's the reasoning for going from very light to a hint darker a little below the lighter shade

With a yellow-ish color, pack onto the first third of your inner lid.

Back to a middle shade of orange and pack onto the middle of lid...we are still working on blending these colors by using varying the shade of the orange.

Now we are going to add some of the fire-y red shade to the outer V of your eye lid.

Next I deepened the outer v up with a little brown for some darker definition, but only lightly

I used a soft cream shade to highlight my brow bone.

I wanted to brighten up the yellow on my inner lid so I took the brightest color of yellow in the pallet and applied it on the inner third of my lid. Right where we first applied the yellow.

Now that the top lid is done, we are going to take the dark brown color on a pencil brush and run it on the lower lash line and then with the reddish orange color run it right below it where it almost smudges it out and gives a nice red brown color for your lower lash line.

Next I did my lower water line with a brown pencil liner, top lash line with black liquid liner, curled my eyelashes, applied mascara, false lashes, bronzer, my blush, highlight and lipstick. And then I was finished.

So there you have it....my Pokemon Charmander inspired makeup tutorial. What do you think?

I really hope you enjoyed my Pokemon inspired makeup look. I am thinking about a couple more to do, but I have to figure out just how to go about making them look good enough to walk out of the house with it. LOL
