A team of researchers at the University of Chicago believes they have found the answer. Examining the existing graphic evidence of the apparitions (not very numerous, on the other hand), they have come to the conclusion that they are Canadian crane specimens, a bird that can measure between one and a half and two meters, and that has a red border around its eyes.
