in #marketfriday6 years ago

This is Dangwa Flower Market, or Bulaklakan ng Maynila in Tagalog (Philippines native language). This is where you find fresh flowers in different varieties. It is said to be 50 - 80 percent cheaper than in a regular flower shop around the country.

My Aunt and her business partner buying a wholesale flowers for their flower shop.

Fresh flowers are mostly locals coming from Benguet province and various flowers farms around the Philippines. Some fresh blooms are also imported coming from different countries like netherlands and thailand for other varieties.

They do different sorts of arrangement of flowers including funeral flowers.

I lived in the UAE (United Arab Emirates). The weather can be challenging at times, especially during summer. Flowers here are mostly imported from europe. At every big supermarket in UAE (United Arab Emirates), there is a designated area for flowers, always located near the counter.

Wondering why they are always placed near the counter or at the main entrance?

This is an absolutely wonderful post and I thoroughly enjoyed reading every single word of it. I love that it was very informative about the different flowers in the Philippines and where they come from.

It was most interesting to see your aunt and her business partner putting together flower arrangements. Very very nice. I must say that I think that the markets Put the flower at the entrance and the counter to give a customer a last chance to purchase flowers. It is the first and last thing that you see when you come in the store.

Thank you so very much for participating in Market Friday and it was a real pleasure to read your post.
