As a Manchester United's fan, I would say this is the kind of start I hope for. It bodes well for the confidence level of the team and of course beating a close rival would go a long way even though the season just started.

United didn't play as classy or as fluent as I would have hope because they were catching Chelsea on the break for most of the time while Chelsea dominated and dictated proceedings. I love their sheer determination and desire to bury the ghost of last season and start the season in a better way. It is like a 6 pointer game and they were up for it.

Maguire impressed me the most as he was calm at the center of the defence while intercepting so many balls that could have caused us problems. Wan-Bissaka also impressed me even though I want him to be more decisive with his take ons and also his crosses. The partnership of Lindelof with Harry Maguire is really good to be honest and long may that continue and hoping they stay fit without any kind of injury. Martial showed his flashes and Rashford was a constant menace to Chelsea's backline.

Pogba started the match like he doesn't want to be in the team but he grew as the game went by and he gave his decisive passes while making it easier for the attackers to get behind Chelsea's backline. He was impressive as the game was coming to a close. Oh! De Gea with his trademark impressive saves and Chelsea were unlucky to hit the bar twice - first was Tammy Abraham and Emerson was with the second attempt.

Chelsea squandered so many chances to be honest and the scoreline wasn't a true reflection of the effort they put in but as we all know, football is a result business and United got the job done in an emphatic fashion.

Rashford opened the floodgates with a Penalty after he was brought down by Kurt Zuoma. He duly dispatched it and Martial got in on the end of a cross to scramble the second goal home. An exciting and excellent long ball came from Paul Pogba to make it 2 goals for Rashford and 3 for United on the night while Pogba gave another amazing pass to debutant - Daniel James to get in on the act and make it 4 goals. What a feeling it must be for the young lad. Pogba ran half the length of the field and released the pass to James who took a bit of time before hitting a deflected strike into the back of the net.

It must be a big blow for Lampard being his first match but it is too early in the season to write him off but I would say, this is a very significant win for Manchester United as it creates in them a bit of a relief but they still need to work more. Getting the result against Chelsea is very important and they need to also learn how to do the same to other opponents while carving their defence open as well. Most teams might not hit the bar twice before scoring. We need to keep them at bay while also finding solutions to stubborn defence.

I am satisfied and relieved that we won. Another series of big games would be coming up next week. Premier League football is back and I am excited.
