Study: Insulin Pump Is Better than Injection for Type I Diabetes

A German study found that the use of the insulin pump for type 1 diabetic patients is linked to an improvement in blood sugar level and reduce the risk of falling sugar.
The study was conducted by researchers led by Dr. Joachim Rosenbauer of the German Diabetes Center, and included patients under the age of 20 years of 446 centers for the treatment of diabetes, who used the pump insulin or multiple daily injections.
The researchers found that patients who used the insulin pump had a slight improvement in control of blood sugar, compared with patients who took insulin injections.
They observed that sick children and adolescents who used the pumps were less likely to suffer from hypoglycemia than those who had injectable insulin doses.
