Teammalaysia Sabah & Labuan - Meetup

Yesterday on the 4th May 2018, our Malaysia, Sabah Steemit Community had a meetup at Starbucks City Mall at 6.00 PM. We were supposed to have the meetup a day before, but since most of the members was a bit busy with their schedule, it was rearranged to the next day.

The Main Objective of The Meetup

1. To do the post-mortem regarding the San Damiano Boy's Hostel Charity Drive
2. To further polish up the plan for the Steemit Kaamatan Meetup and Gathering
3. To share each other's valuable tips, experience, and information

San Damiano Boy's Hostel Charity Drive - Post Mortem

Overall, everyone agreed that the Charity Drive has been a success. It was quite a surprising news too to know that all of us accept for @veenang, has never been involved in charity works before. So, it was indeed a remarkable effort that we managed to successfully organized it with so little knowledge, but our handicap was eclipsed by our passion and determination to make it work. We planned to make this charity drive a yearly event, and with God's will, we hope to organize another charity event before the turn of the year.

1st Steemit Kaamatan Meetup & Gathering

We actually planned this gathering about 2 months ago, the same day that we came up with Charity Drive idea. We all agreed that @melindajamulis should be given the responsibility to organize it, but since it will be hard for her to do it alone, she asked for assistance from @arwine, @verasj and me. The four of us had our meeting 3 weeks ago about it, and we drafted out the plan so that we can present it during the meetup for the others to comment. To our delight, the others were really supportive and they are thoroughly satisfied with our arrangements. I will make a specific post about it once our elected leader @melindajamulis do her introductory post.

Sharing Tips and Informations

All of us who came for the meetup has received invaluable tips and information from our Steem Ambassador @danieldoughty and the ever informative @veenang. @danieldoughty shared us his knowledge about SMT (Small Media Token), tags abuse and his responsibility and duty as a Steem Ambassador. While @veenang informed us about the benefits of joining communities who specializes in curating posts. I have to say, these two guys are currently the two main leaders of our #teammalaysia Sabah Steemit Community. Not forgetting @nickychu who came all the way from Labuan to join this meetup and shared his experience and information about joining @qurator.

Conclusions

Our meetup adjourned around 8.20 PM, and everyone was really happy with what we have gained and shared through this meetup. I hope more Steemians can join next time as this is a great opportunity for all of us to share our experience and information and gain more knowledge and understanding about the Steemit Platform.
