Imagine for a moment that you're town has only one barber. This barber has a monopoly on hair services.
You have no choice, you need to get a cut.
Do you get the blow out, or do you spend $200 on the haircut?
Personally, I find it hard to figure out if either my frugal side or my self respect wins out...
