but it is still the most stable form of currency and if the economy goes in the toilet you can make more use of it. But not in the form of ingots in a back, in jewelry that can be sold/traded or in an gold account so you can withdraw useful amounts of currency if the inflation huge. We don't know yet how cryptocurrency will manage in this situation.
Only problem with the alternatives are that they still need to be adopted by everyone. I figure we only have another 7.5 billion people to go ;-)
