They shall not stop our memes! Why memes and our methods must evolve, especially for Twitter

Greetings patriots.

I write today to discuss MEMES:

And the urgent need to EVOLVE new meme methods following the change into “Nu-Twitter” recently.
We will begin with a recap of meme theory, review how and why memes work (or do not) and then discuss the new landscape of Twitter, the fast ones they are trying to pull, and how we will deny them and maintain the effectiveness of memes as the red pill method of choice, with practical examples of both problems and solutions.

NOTE: I make no claim to being above any other meme wizard, nor that I know all things, nor that I know better than anyone else. But I do know what I know: when you finish this article: so will you.

MEME THEORY: THE WHY OF MEMES
Video resource, highly recommended, props to @EmperorLemon

What is a meme?
Why do they work?
Why can the left not meme?
(Answer: minds in a box cant fly ;) )

You most likely have shared memes, or made memes: and you may have enjoyed them. But do you understand why they do what they do?

The initial credit for the naming and concept of modern memes must go to the Evolutionary Biologist Ricard Dawkins. Can’t stand the guy personally, he is an insufferable little man and a Europhile Remainer with a throbbing bottom: BUT he knew his stuff re comparing how human Genes spread to how human ideas could spread in the same way.

https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/people/richard-dawkins

“When discussing how natural selection might extend beyond biological replication, Dawkins proposed that ideas could be subject to Darwinian principles as well, since they appear to replicate by means of cultural transmission. To label this kind of information, Dawkins coined the word "meme" as the cultural analog to a gene. The word originates from the Greek word "mimeme", meaning "imitated thing". Under the Dawkins definition, a meme can be any idea, behavior or trend that has the ability to transmit from person to person.”

Dawkins book “the selfish gene” became a massive hit in the mid 1970’s and made his reputation, and it contained within it this concept that ideas could replicate and spread like genes or virus’s. The seed of the meme was planted: to become the cultural superweapon they are today:

“A meme (/miːm/ MEEM) is an idea, behavior, or style that spreads from person to person within a culture—often with the aim of conveying a particular phenomenon, theme, or meaning represented by the meme. A meme acts as a unit for carrying cultural ideas, symbols, or practices, that can be transmitted from one mind to another through writing, speech, gestures, rituals, or other imitable phenomena with a mimicked theme. Supporters of the concept regard memes as cultural analogues to genes in that they self-replicate, mutate, and respond to selective pressures.”

Great. Lots of big words and science stuff.

But while this describes WHAT they do… it still doesn’t explain WHY

MYSTERIES OF THE HUMAN BRAIN

Replication is Repetition
Repetition
Repetition

Mass communication is repetition. Every news station has a handful of stories from the whole world repeated on a loop for that day. If everyone is saying it, it must be true.

A meme can be absolutely ANYTHING. An image. A phrase. A slogan. A sound.

Corporate logo’s and advertising campaigns are MEMES:
So are political campaign slogans

Make America Great Again!
Build The Wall!
Lock Her Up!

They are all forms of memetic communication:
But some memes fail: others succeed.
WHY?
Because of YOU!
And YOU!
And YOU!
And YOU!

No meme can succeed, in fact they are useless and powerless, unless they connect to people in such a way that they repeat it, whether it’s a catchphrase from a comedy, a phrase from a politician: or mashing the share button on social media.

But the decision to do so does NOT start in the thinking conscious mind:
But in the subconscious.

The Dark Art of Advertising, as originated with Edward Bernays, understood that to connect people to a product, it has to connect with their subconscious mind.

Look at adverts, especially from the golden age of the 1950’s, and how they connect to underlying subconscious desires.

A car makes you virile.
A perfume makes you desirable.
A convenience appliance makes you better…

While modern memes do not operate from the cynicism of manipulating people to open their wallets: they speak (or do not) to the same subconscious space.

The conscious mind can accept a thought: or reject it: but it cannot un-THINK it!
This is where the power of memes reside.

The whole image must hit the eyes at ONCE: there must be no barrier, at all, to delivering that payload:

Once the meme is in, there WILL be a choice: accept: or reject: share: or not.

And the DECISION will have been made before the conscious mind even gets its boots on…

“You are not here to work out what to do: you are here to understand what you already decided” THE MATRIX RELOADED

THIS IS THE CRUCIAL SECRET OF THE MEME: SUCCESFUL MEMES DELIVER THAT PAYLOAD AND INSPIRE THE SHARE REACTION: FAIL (*IE leftist) MEMES DO NOT!

Which brings us to the issue with Twitter today…

THE GLOBAL ELITE GOT BUTT FUCKED BY MEMES IN 2016!

A pivotal year in world history, the use of social media platforms accompanied the increasing sophistication of memetic warfare WRECKED the tradition political campaigns of both Hillary Clinton in the USA, and Remain In EU in the UK, costing BILLIONS of dollars and MILLIONS of Pounds.

And they have been working out what the hell to do about it ever since!

Ghostbans and account deletions were their immediate responses, trying to coral people into like-minded echo chambers to limit the cross connection of messages, starting mass panic stories amplified across their MSM that it was all RUSSIA RUSSIA RUSSIA

They tried the LOT!

UP TILL NOW no matter what they have done to restrict US, the memes have broken through, and the globalists have been tearing their hair out, even trying to legally ban memes (until they realised that exposed them as a) scared b) fascists...)

But NOW memetic warfare faces an existential threat:

Which is why I am writing this article, as I see all too well far too many patriots do not actually understand the art of the meme…

And therefore are blissfully unaware of how Twitters latest wheeze is taking our memes and leaving us fucked…

Until we adapt and evolve of course…

But its going to take a little bit of awareness and a little bit of effort on the part of meme makers to absolutely ensure that #TheyCanNeverBeatOurMemes.

What did Twitter do? They radically overhauled how images display…

TWITTER THINK THEY ARE CLEVER: THEY ARE NOT!
BUT KNOWLEDGE IS POWER…
IGNORANCE IS SLAVERY…

THIS IS A MEME

Props to @DrawAndStrike. (also sorry Brian, you’re my example 😉 )

Now I'm not saying if it’s a good meme or a bad meme. I tend to avoid using movie star faces myself, one never knows where they have been. But Brian’s account is big league on twitter, and if memes are going to go “Viral” (Spread at an exponential rate), its accounts like Brian’s they need to do it from

But Brians meme has a problem.
It’s a square shape

And twitter has changed so that images now display in a letterbox 2:1 ration format, NOT a square
A vast majority of the memes made up to date in service in the InfoWar are SQAURE(ish) not letterbox rectangles

#DoYouSeeWhatTheyDidThere?

And this is the result:

If you love memes set them) free

And while there are a lot of bad memes out there (aesthetically non-optimum or just naff message) a good meme that flies free to find its destiny is a beautiful thing.

Therefore I took Brians meme, and modified it for him.

In order to do so I had to change its shape, which I did in the most basic program imaginable, Microsoft PAINT. I’m a writer, I don’t have all day to mess with photoshop, so don’t think you need any special kit to do this. ANY computer with a windows operating system can meme with TOTAL effectiveness!

To do so I had to change its shape, easy enough with the black background. Popped it in paint, drew a rectangle around it, filled in black, then selected the right shape, copy, and…. PASTE
I gave it a little stretch too, in fact the original was a bit squished.

Note the amount of margin needed…
To get the meme to display like this:

Now we can see the return of the memes effectiveness: it is no longer half of nothing at all, but BOSH, getting its payload straight into the subconscious brain

UNDERSTAND?
5:5

Here is another example….
This is one of my memes, made it three or four years ago, because you know…
“Its ok to be White”

Its done reasonably well as memes go: but as we can see: it’s a square shape…
So If I was to tweet that meme, or share an existing tweet of it, what would it currently look like?

Well its fine if I want to be a Gandalf fanboy, but its meme power is completely destroyed. It has no message. It would need the conscious decision to click it to discover its message, may as well give up and just type some words without an image at all…

To correct it, I didn’t change its shape at all, but I searched an image “white plasma storm” then posted the original meme on top of it, with a little bit of a border to give it a sharp central edge

I then checked it would display properly on twitter, (its going to be a little fine fiddle to get the selection just right sometimes), good to go:

DEPLOYED

MEME POWER RESTORED!
GAME ON MOFO’s!

NOTE: Being smaller on screen does NOT reduce the memes power as long as it commands FOCUS. The brain still sees it before anyone can even think of rejecting it:

#OnTimeOnTarget!

CONCLUSION:

You may not like this
You're going to have to get off your arses!
There is ZERO VALUE in posting or sharing Disabled Memes: ZERO!
They must be adjusted and re-weaponised or made from scratch to suit the new Twitter format:

November 2020: WORK TO DO!

So its on you now: you have the information: you can clearly see the need and have had the theory explained to you:

Either make your memes to suit the new InfoBattle Conditions, or take it on yourself to give existing memes a little love and care, and help rebuild that effective arsenal that we are ALL going to need:

TO STICK IT TO TWITTER FACEBOOK AND THE GLOBALISTS: ALL OVER AGAIN!

This might seem a massive task ahead.
It is!
But we wont get it done by crying about it, so suck it up buttercups:

YOU'RE IN THE MEME WAR NOW!
Good luck Patriots!

Oh!
Because I am nice: I shall drop the memes I have changed for Twitter so far at the bottom here…
