2018, the year of Data 2.0

"Big data" is finally just "data". We paused the #metadata conversation, but #AI requires that we start to focus more on Data Ontology and Taxonomy (http://www.dataversity.net/taxonomy-vs-ontology-machine-learning-breakthroughs/). So far we have been concerned on on Data Privacy... I have seen a few blockchain projects that will allow individuals to monetize their personal search data, ending the "data slavery". Most organizations are just tapping into better customer understanding, but not yet reselling processed data (https://www.economist.com/the-world-if/2018/07/07/what-if-people-were-paid-for-their-data ). The World Economic Forum proposes we differentiate "Individually provided data" from "Observed data" and "Inferred data" (http://reports.weforum.org/rethinking-personal-data/near-term-priorities-for-strengthening-trust/). It's time to develop a smarter data ecosystem, is it time for Data 2.0! DATA 2.0.png
