In this video we will talk about how to set up a good ERC-20 standard wallet address, (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ERC20) some ICO and tokens needs an ERC-20 standard wallet address, the ETH wallet address from Coinbase might be not valid or working in certain circumstances.
We will use myetherwallet and metamask. MetaMask is a very easy to use Ethereum Wallet that's built into your Chrome browser as an extension!
What we will do is to create a strictly private ether wallet address using myetherwallet.com and metamask.io You need to follow along with the video in order to be able to do it, the tools you will need are above in the description of this video and a .txt file to store your passwords and recovery codes. To wrap up the steps are:
- generate a strong password with password generator for myetherwallet (MEW)
- create a MEW account with that password
- save the JSON and Private Keys
- install metamask.io
- generate a strong password for metamask
- save the random metamask words into the .txt file
- head over MEW
- open metamask extension and click on IMPORT
- give the JSON file and MEW password
- click on log in with metamask from MEW
- save your files in a safe place and backup them
- use your address wherever you need it
