Hello my steemian friends...Good Afternoon and have a nice day....I hope all of you will be good and doing their job well.  Do you see or hear sun or moon eclipse? Today I will tell you how and why the sun and moon eclipses. Let's know.. 

Solar Eclipse

You must know that the Earth is a planet of our solar system and we live on earth. The earth revolves around the sun and the moon revolves around the earth. When the moon roaming and come between the sun and the earth, so it does not allow sunlight to reach the earth. Therefore, the sun's light does not reach us and the sun does not appear to us. It is called solar eclipse. 

There are three types of Solar Eclipse

        

Total Solar Eclipse

If the moon stops the sun's rays completely then it is called total solar eclipse.

During a total eclipse of the Sun, the Moon covers the entire disk of the Sun. In partial and annular solar eclipses, the Moon blocks only part of the Sun. 

Annular Eclipse 

An annular solar eclipse happens when the Moon covers the Sun's center, leaving the Sun's visible outer edges to form a “ring of fire” or annulus around the Moon. 

The Moon's shadow is not big enough to engulf the entire planet, so the shadow is always limited to a certain area. This area changes during the eclipse because the Moon and Earth are in constant motion: Earth continuously rotates around its axis while it orbits the Sun, and the Moon orbits Earth.Solar eclipses are only visible from within the area where the shadow falls, and the closer you are to the center of the shadow's path, the bigger the eclipes looks.

Partial Solar Eclipse

Partial solar eclipses happen when the Moon comes between the Sun and Earth, but the Moon only partially covers the Sun's disk.

During a partial solar eclipse, the Moon, the Sun and Earth don't align in a perfectly straight line, and the Moon casts only the outer part of its shadow, the penumbra, on Earth. From our perspective, this looks like the Moon has taken a bite out of the Sun.Sometimes, the Moon covers only a tiny part of the Sun's disk. Other times a partial eclipse looks almost like a total eclipes. The size of the eclipsed area is referred to as eclipes magnitude. 

 Lunar Eclipse

                             

When the earth comes between sun and moon. So the Earth does not allow the sun's rays to reach the moon and the moon is not visible to us, it is called lunar eclipse. 

There are three types of Lunar Eclipse 

Total Moon Eclipse

If the Earth completely blocks the Sun's rays, then it is called the total lunar eclipse.

A total lunar eclipse takes place when the Earth comes between the Sun and the Moon and covers the Moon with its shadow. When this happens, the Moon can turn red, earning it the nickname of Blood Moon. Total eclipses of the Moon happen at Full Moon when the Sun, Earth, and Moon are aligned to form a line. The astronomical term for this type of alignment is syzygy, which comes from the Greek word for being paired together. 

Partial lunar Eclipse

When a part of the moon is hidden then it is called partial lunar eclipse. 

A partial lunar eclipse happens when the Earth moves between the Sun and the Full Moon, but they are not precisely aligned. Only part of the Moon's visible surface moves into the dark part of the Earth's shadow. A partial lunar eclipse occurs when the Earth moves between the Sun and Moon but the three celestial bodies do not form a straight line in space. When that happens, a small part of the Moon's surface is covered by the darkest, central part of the Earth's shadow, called the umbra. The rest of the Moon is covered by the outer part of the Earth's shadow called the penumbra.

Penumbral Lunar Eclipse

A penumbral lunar eclipse takes place when the Moon moves through the faint, outer part of Earth's shadow. This type of eclipse is often mistaken for a normal Full Moon.

The Moon shines because its surface reflects the Sun's rays. A lunar eclipse happens when the Earth comes between the Sun and the Moon and blocks some or all of the Sun's light from reaching the Moon.
