Samsung Galaxy J8 will be available in India starting June 28 for Rs 18,990

Samsung launched the Galaxy J8, alongside the Galaxy J6, A6 and A6+ back in May this year. During the launch, Samsung had announced that the Galaxy J8 will be available from July 2018 onwards. Back then, the company didn't reveal the availability date of the phone. The company has now confirmed the India availability date of the Galaxy J8 to be June 28.
Samsung Mobile India, on Monday, took to Twitter to announce the availability date of the Galaxy J8. "Give the 'Infinity Touch' to your picture's background with the #BackgroundBlurShape of the new 16+5MP #DualRearCamera on #GalaxyJ8. Only 3 days to go for the big launch. Stay tuned," the company tweeted. This is for the first time in India that the Galaxy J8 will be available for purchase.
The Galaxy J8 will be available for buying in three colour options -- blue, black, and gold. The smartphone will be selling on company's e-shop website for a price tag of Rs 18,990. The smartphone will also be available on Paytm Mall, just as other J series smartphones. Samsung has partnered with ICICI Bank to offer cashbacks to the customers. ICICI users will be able to get cashback of up to Rs 1,500 on purchasing the phone via their debit or credit card.
The Samsung Galaxy J8 will be available in only one variant, with 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The storage memory can be expandable by up 256GB via a micro-SD card. The Galaxy J8 has a 6-inch 720p+ Super AMOLED display and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor.
The phone comes with dual-SIM support and runs Android Oreo software and supports 4G LTE connectivity. It is further backed by a 3,500mAh battery and charges over standard micro-USB.
The Galaxy J8 comes with a dual rear camera set up on the back panel, which consists of a 16-megapixel primary sensor with an aperture of f/1.7 and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor with f/1.9 aperture. The secondary camera is dedicated for depth sensing or capturing portrait pictures. On the front, the Galaxy J8 comes with a 16-megapixel camera with LED flash. The rear camera module also comes coupled with LED flash and Samsung's hallmark Live Focus feature that lets users adjust the level of bokeh in shots after clicking a picture.
