What is Miniature Art

I have no idea the real meaning of a miniature art until I did a search in google. Here I summarise my understanding of such term:-
Genuine smaller than normal workmanship or painting in little is a type that spotlights on craftsmanship (particularly painting, etching, and model) with a long history that goes back to the copyists of the medieval ages. Small-scale craftsmanship social orders, for example, the World Federation of Miniaturists (WFM), give appropriate meanings of the term. A regularly utilized definition is that a bit of smaller than expected workmanship can be held in the palm of the hand, or that it covers under 25 square inches or 100 cm². Subjects are portrayed in 1/6 genuine size, and in all works of art, the soul of scaling down ought to be kept up. Reference

I came across this video of Miniature Video on one of my social platform. After viewing it several times and I found it very meaningful to share to other social platforms. But I reckon that this is not my video and I decided to search on facebook and youtube for the video source. I could not find it on youtube but managed to get it on facebook.

The video featured the artist "Pui Wan" which stated her profile as below:-

Pui Wan is a miniature artist in Kuala Lumpur. (To be clear, she’s a full-size artists who makes miniatures.) Her artwork preserves the memory of the beautiful old buildings and communities in Kuala Lumpur that are being demolished to make room for new construction. Reference

The video featured the miniature of some old building in Jalan Panggung, Kuala Lumpur. and I found this video has historical value to it. Firstly, the miniature building recorded in the video is no longer exist. Secondly, it provides a story for a historian and the relevant official in the heritage and museum department a reference for Kuala Lumpur heritage building records.

Conclusion

The key learning I get from this short video is that unless there is concerted effort to record an old building into a miniature form, it will give a better perspective as opposed to a written form of record. Afterall, seeing is believing, and it will enhance the truthfulness of appreciating the historical architecture.
