There is nothing like feeling the wind in your face and the purr of her engine, as you ride the open roads.

Meet my best friend I get to share it all with Florence. I felt inspired to write this piece after my husband wrote all about his ride and paid tribute to my ride too. Link to an awesome read here

Then when checking out the coolest discord sever #steemitmamas, I was told I was kinda badass by @squirrellyma in the @steemitmamas discord group chat. All this bike talk and I couldn't resist sharing this wild side of this boring, old, housewife and mumma of 5 .

I quite liked the idea of being somewhat a badass, as I am usually referred to as the bad cop to my 5 kids and it makes a great change.

Some days, I choose to skip the bus and drive the 40-minute commute and ride this girl into the rural villages the outskirts of Siem Reap to the school I work in. The scenery is to die for and nothing can cure a bad day and free your mind more than winding through the mesmerizing Cambodian villages.

Like anytime on the roads you must always keep an eye on the road ahead. Especially riding through the countryside where you also have to keep an eye out for giant potholes and whomever else is on the road, like wondering dogs or buffalo running out to greet you on the roads.

Most local Khmer women do not ride bigger motorcycles and just get around on smaller 125's. Many of my female students have stated when they grow up they want to ride "a big man bike" like Mrs. Kiene. Just like my daughter Scarlet did at 4 years-old when she jumped on her first 50cc.

Some people feel letting a child in charge of a motorbike is dangerous and of course, it can be. But as with learning any new skill, we educate our children about riding safety, what to do in the event of an emergency and the importance of always wearing correct safety gear. Our children would never ride on the roads and only on our property and I feel more than confident in their maturity and abilities.
