I could care less
For some reason, this phrase has always rubbed me the wrong way. It's like nails on a chalkboard. If you could care less, it means that you care. It's supposed to be "I couldn't care less".
Someone once told me the saying was meant to be sarcastic. While that makes sense, I have difficulty believing the original saying was sarcastic. It seems more plausible that we messed up the grammar and it coincidentally makes sense as sarcasm.
Am I the only one?

Hi. Yes, I'm new to the platform. Only 2 days old (3 days at the time of this writing.) Thanks for your advice and the pointers to the other posts. I don't quite understand how the platform decides what a post is 'worth', but I'm sure that's because of my inexperience.

Nope, you're not.
Appologies if I've upset you. I've only been on the platform a few days. The concept of an open platform seemed appealing, but perhaps this was a mistake. I'll return to the more traditional content platforms where there is a little less hostility toward newcomers. It seems SteemIt has a long way to go before it truly "supports community building".
nothing to do with supporting newcomers. if you knew what i do on a daily basis, that's all i do. it has to do with abusing the bidbots by trying to make large amounts of payout with little input.

STOPNo it really isn't sarcasm. There might be the occassional deep thinker who intentionally mutilates the saying to make a point. And probably won't be understood.
Everybody else uses the saying just wrong.
