Jorge Masvidal shocks London as he knocks out Darren Till! UFC Fight Night

What an awesome fight!

I didn't realize the fights were on this early because it slipped my mind they took place in LONDON.

The main event of this fight night was a Welterweight bout between rising star Darren Till and veteran of the game, and star in his own right Jorge Masvidal.

This was a very good matchup on paper. They're both high level strikers, they are both very athletic.

The difference to me and to most people was the size difference between the two men.

Darren is huge for the division and Jorge used to be, and probably still could be, a lightweight.

So two fighters with similar skill sets most would assume the bigger man would win, the bigger man being Darren. He's younger and has a huge hype train, perhaps that's why he was the favorite more than anything else.

I thought Darren would win. He seemed very big I thought too big for Jorge.

I didn't count Jorge out fully. He's one of my favorite fighters he's very good. He actually gained a bit of fame on YouTube for his streetfighting before proving himself as a pro. He apparently was affiliated with Kimbo Slice back in the day.

Also, I did note that this was a massive opportunity for Jorge. Till was #3 and Jorge #11. The fight was in London, totally Darren's soil. I told my girlfriend before the main card that a huge win over Till in an environment like this would do wonders for Jorge's career.

The fight started off very odd. Jorge came out strong going straight for some sort of kick to the thigh. Jorge missed the kick to the things and his foot instead landed to Till's groin. So not even three seconds into the fight the fight needs to be paused so that Till can get some recovery time.

After Till has recovered and the fight resumes it doesn't take Till long to land a great punch that actually drops Jorge. I thought this fight might already be over.

But as Till closes in to add another quick finish to his record it is apparent that Jorge has recovered incredibly quickly.

As Till closes in, he's met with upkicks and whatnot from Jorge. It was so impressive to see Jorge recover that quickly, I think even Darren was surprised. I wonder if it's because Jorge doesn't cut a lot of weight and his brain wasn't dehydrated...

Anyway there are many fantastic trades from then on.

The fight continues and then out of nowhere Jorge lands a savage left hook I believe and absolutely drops Till in front of his people in London.

Total silence ensues.

I was seriously surprised!!

I'm super happy for Jorge. He's had a great career and deserves the big fights he has coming.

He was very nice and respectful after the fight. Getting as many of those fans he can in London. As he should. He pulled of some legendary shit right there.

I believe Till should consider a move to middleweight and not kill himself with the weightcuts and maybe he will be able to recover from shots as Jorge recovered from his tonight.

What a fight I can't wait to see what Masvidal does next.

Afterwards fellow welterweight Leon Edwards, who won his fight the very bout before Till versus Masvidal, started talking crap to Jorge during a post fight interview. Jorge calmly walked over and hit him with a three piece combo!!! In front of everyone with cameras rolling.

Legendary.

Jorge Masvidal is a savage and is for sure one of my favorite fighters.
