Some thought the monarchy belonged a to time in the past.

In our modern world today the monarchy is a great business model. This wedding alone was a stimulus spending package for the UK. Well over $1 billion was spent on hotels, clothing, travel, etc.

Even if the wedding cost $100 million the UK businesses came out way ahead. The monarchy may have lost its initial purpose, but today it serves as a great economic driver.
