First sight without Elliott Waves or patterns, this chart of Lear Corp. (LEA) would look or seem to be have topped. The initial impulse also looks fine in form and fit; in other words, the impulse looks like an impulse. But, what do the subwaves show?

The blue subwaves of white 5 shows that it's likely finishing blue 3 and so blue 4 correction is expected. This means that white 5 has a while to go in both time and price level. The blue 3 is patterning out the final details of an upward pointing wedge (white lines). So, first sight and second look with waves and patterns can alter the first impression.
