Money and happiness... A correlation story

in #money5 years ago

Does money equal happiness?

Of course it doesn't, but there is a big correlation. According to a recent study in Belgium (taken from over 8000 people with all kinds of backgrounds), money helps people to be more content up until a certain point and then the happiness drew back with the growth of the income. Like a parabole.

The results of the test were quite surprising to me. The amount of money needed to create happiness was way less than I expected. The maximum happiness was perceived at 4000,00 EUR net income per month. People that earn less AND people that earn more are unhappier. For different reasons, but that's besides the point.

The important thing about this questionnaire is that the result must give hope and reality to people. Achieving more happiness does not only include money but more important things in life like quality time and family. AND the income of 4000,00 EUR net, is not unachievable. If you work smart and invest smart, you can achieve this. Not in a day or a year, but with a well thought out plan, this must be possible. At least, in my humble opinion reflected on to my life!

This gives me courage! What do you think about this? Let me know in the comments.
