Flag all scams/referral links/shit you can find!
Hey everyone!
I'm back and whilst I was checking out the "new" page of the money, cryptocurrency and more tags, I continuously found referral link advertisements to scams and complete garbage posts. This is not what Steemit is meant for and we should punish these people accordingly.
My suggestion to each of you is to downvote these idiots. There is mostly 1 kind of scam that's being advertised, which are the "Ponzi schemes": Scam programs that pay the old investors with the investments of the new investors. Some examples of these Ponzi schemes are:
- Bitconnect
- UsiTech
- Basically anything that offers too great returns to possibly be legitimate and tells you it's risk-free.
Now I'm not saying that anything that offers good returns is a scam. I'm simply saying that most of these are. And combined with a weird explanation of their money-making method, referral programs, etc... I'd say 99.9% of these kind of programs are ponzi scams. You shouldn't invest in them and you should keep others from investing in them too.
How do we stop these Ponzis? We stop Ponzi investors! How do we do that? We can start by flagging all the Ponzi Scam posts we can find! Just flag them! If we all work together, we can stop these idiots. Not only are they spamming Steemit with garbage, they're also making people lose a lot of money.
Summary: Flag all scam advertisements you can find! Let's clean Steemit!
So basically you're saying that Bitcoin is a scam, because it's returns this year alone are over 500%, so according to you, it is obviously a scam.
Secondly you are promoting censorship, and believe that Steemit should be the next /r/Bitcoin.
Good job buddy!
I didn't state that Bitcoin is a scam. Please read my post more carefully.
Yes, I am. Some people don't deserve to be part of the Steemit community.
Thanks!
So you're judge and jury huh?
Sheesh, if more people like you join Steemit, and buy tons of Steem, I would really hate to see what this place becomes.
Really? So you want Steemit to be spammed with these awful scam advertisements? I'm trying to get Steemit users to clean their beloved platform.
I'm not saying that posts that aren't very good should be flagged. I'm just saying that scams/scam advertisements should be flagged.
Then please leave this place. I don't like discussions with people who don't know what they're talking about.
Do you have proof that BitConnect is a scam?
And don't you think people should make up their own minds on what they do and don't want to see. This is a decentralized community after all. If you want your freedom taken away and policed, go use Twitter.
Bitconnect is obviously a Ponzi. The problem is that no one can prove it, until it's too late, which is the case with almost any ponzi scheme.
Sure, people should make up their own minds on what they do and don't want to see, but I doubt anyone wants to be spammed with Scam Advertisements.. Really... I'm not trying to get all the low quality posts off Steemit. I'm just trying to reduce the amount of scam advertisements, as it's very annoying.
I'm not going to use Twitter. Twitter is just garbage and isn't at all related to Steemit.
If you can't think, please don't say anything either.
Wow, you are all about censorchip huh bud, you sure you don't use Twitter.
Oh, and:
If you can't prove something, it usually means there's nothing to prove. The math of BitConnect is pure genius, and they make a whole hell of lot more money then they dish out, so do some research before you open that censorship loving hole on your face bud.
LMAO, the math in that video is so broken! Its sustainability is only possible if Bitcoin keeps growing. If Bitcoin stops growing fast enough, it won't be profitable for them anymore... And they will stop paying! The trader bot is kept secret and I highly doubt it's trading out there with such profits.
Besides, your statement of "If you can't prove something, it usually means there's nothing to prove." is total BS. We can't prove that https://bitclick.club/ is a scam either. Does that mean that there is nothing to prove? It's a scam. We can't prove it, but it's a scam!
Bitconnect is the same. The math in the video assumes that Bitcoin keeps growing and the trader bot keeps making profitable investments. Both will stop at sometime in the future. The problem is that no one knows why and if you believe Bitcoin is going to grow, why would you invest in Bitconnect and not in Bitcoin?
If you invested $10,010 in Bitconnect 4 months ago, you would've made almost $15,000 profit... AWESOME, right? But what if you invested $10,010 in Bitcoin? Bitcoin's price then was about $2800 and now, the bitcoin price approaches $9000. You would've made more than $22000 profit!
By the way, if you really believe Bitconnect is legitimate, please prove it. "If you can't prove it, it usually means there's nothing to prove!"
I will stop replying, because this discussion is turning into nonsense from your side and logic & facts from my side.

Referral programs are not always inherently bad. Pretty much every company has one. This includes Amazon, local bitcoins, eBay, ect. Are these companies scams?
If somebody makes a VALUABLE post reviewing a service, creating a tutorial, or providing other useful information there is no reason they should not be able to post an affiliate link for the product/service they used to get a commission. I don't use bitconnect, but it's not my business if other people want to.
Agreed, but posts based PURELY on referral advertisements are not okay. Let's look at an example:
https://steemit.com/bitcoin/@babarkhudai/100-instant-payment
It's obviously a scam and the steemian is only advertising it because of the referral link he added to it. That's what I meant with the referral link advertisers.
And I completely agree that it's okay to add a referral link to a valuable post, but there's only a small percentage of these scam advertisement posts that's actually valuable. Most of them are pure referral link advertisements, like the one above.

Good job! Thanks to @sneakyninja you have planted 0.13 tree to save Abongphen Highland Forest in Cameroon. Help me to plant 1,000,000 trees and share my Steem Power to the others. Selfvoting is prohibited, but that should be the reason to spread the world to protect our precious environment.
