Lines and textures

Walking and looking around the house for something to shoot...

I had some idea of what I wanted... I was hungry for textures... something I could shoot with some depth of field, maybe...

Have a look at what I found...

A woven blind I had that was blocking off the hot afternoon sun
Zooming in for a close-up, you can see the texture of the weave...
Added some contrast to achieve this... while shooting from one side provides the depth of field

Next... is the textured surface of the veneer of a wardrobe
Yes, you read right - this is a surface of a cupboard in other words...
In actual fact, you hardly see the lines, until you look closely
But, of course, I made the camera look in close... very close...
Again, I shoot from one side and achieve this depth of field

Finally, a monochrome of a wood separator of a glass cabinet
You know the broad wood pieces between pieces of glass that allows you to view the items inside a glass cabinet...?!
This is an antique cabinet belonging to my mum, with dark wood
And you don't actually see the wood grain.... until... yes, until you look closely...
