Opposites...

A yin and yang type of post... sort of....
Two macro shots but very different from each other.

The subject on this first one was a dry leaf.

Macro lenses have a very shallow DOF by nature, and to accentuate that even more I used a very wide aperture while capturing this image. Completely unintentional though. This was one of my first macro attempts, part of the long learning process that followed it...

The whole shot came up pretty bright and light, the yin part of this post...

Same "mistake" on the next one.
I used an even wider aperture, which produced an almost completely out of focus image. Except for only little leaf.

Not having the webs and dew droplets in focus it's actually the only thing I regret on this shot though.

The contrast between the white leaves ant the dark background came out pretty good.
The yang, comparing with the brightness from the first shot.

Have a great weekend!

The first image has a 3-D look to it. Cool!

Quite a few of the "pro's" i know really get tweeked out about having everything in tack sharp focus.Well maybe not everything in macro but they fuss and fidget a lot. It's weird to listen to them critique their work and painful to hear them do it to others. Oh, i hope this doesn't come off as about your photos or you. It just came up thinking about depth of field.
