وبهذه النتيجة ارتفع رصيد الفريقين إلى 20 نقطة لكل منهما حيث ان تشيلسي بدورة ارتقى الى نفس النقطة بفوزه غير أن الصدارة عادت إلى السيتي بفارق الاهداف
المباراة بدات قوية من الجانبين منذ البداية حيث عرفت تسرع أداء الفريقين بعدما كثرت الكرات المقطوعة غالبا في وسط الميدان لينتهي الشوط الأول دون أي تغيير في النتيجة وفي الشوط الثاني لم تتغير الأوضاع وحتى طريقة لعب الفريقين فظل الضغط العالي مسيطرا كنا نمني النفس بشاهدة مباراة قوية وممتعة خصوصا من جانب اللاعبان العربيان محمد صلاح من جانب فريق ليفربول ورياض محرز من جانب مانشستر سيتي حيث فشلا في استغلال الفرص لكن عكس ما حدث رغم اجراء المدربين الى تغييرات لكن دون جدوى
ولم يتغير شيئا حتى الدقيقة 86 عندما احتسب الحكم ركلة جزاء لسيتي إثر عرقلة ساني داخل منطقة الجزاء فنفذها الجزائري رياض محرز الذي لم يفلح في اعطاء التقدم لفريقه والفوز وأطاح بها عاليا نحو المدرجات وانتهت المباراة بنتيجة سلبية بلا غالب ولا مغلوب
