Spending in Dollar ($) but earning in Naira (#)
This is what most of Nigerian youth are doing. Thay are earning low but spending big.
Your basic salary is #30000 but the phone you are using worth #45000 and you are still dreaming of using the latest phone. Let us do the analysis together:
- You are spending #500 in a day on food. Your feeding fee for a month will be #15000.
- Not forgetting the transport cost #5000.
- As a man, you will recharge #1500
Your Autonomous consumption for a month will be #21500 excluding your miscellaneous expenses.
If you continue like this you will have to save relatively for 9months before you can buy that phone but remember that technology is advancing.
If it will take you up to 9month out of 12month to save for a phone when will you start saving for investment.
This is very short but before I drop the pen you must know this:
if you are not earning while sleeping, you will work till you die.
