The 555kg mentality

There is this story about a woman who weighed 55kg but has been so sad and unhappy for a really long time, a time so long that she felt she weighed 555kg. This is because she has been over burdened with sadness and grief which made it hard for her to go about her daily life normally. During those times she stayed all by herself and wallowed in self pity which resulted in her having suicidal thoughts. She would often say to herself 'Why me? Why does it have to be this way with me?' This went on for some years more until she had a new neighbor. This neighbor noticed her condition and decided to get close to know what her problem was and how it could be solved.

Some people will be placed in your life to lend a helping hand when you're at your lowest. God won't come down to earth to bring you out from that tough situation you're in. He sends men instead.

So this neighbor became close to her. He helped her by giving her word of encouragement telling her it is not the end of the world for her. He made her understand that she still had a whole life ahead of her that even if everyone seems to have abandoned her, God hasn't. As this continued, this woman started seeing herself for who and what she really is. She dusted herself up and longed to see the world again. She gave up on self-pity and went all out to start afresh and conquer the world. She came to realise she actually weighed 55kg but everything she was going through made her feel overweight.

Even if it seems like it it over for you, I want you to know that it is over until God says so. Pick yourself up, move on and also be willing to accept help because everyone needs help in one way or the other. Don't be ashamed. Allow yourself to be helped and you will definitely find help.
