Don't Get Wrapped Up In Opinions

in #motivation5 years ago

Me and a buddy of mine that I haven't seen in a while are going to hit the gym together today.

It's going to be a great lifting session as we haven't been workout partners in quite some time!

It's leg day as well.. That's always a good time!

On my training program, I have to hit hip thrusts today and when my buddy saw that it was on today's to-do list, he cringed a little.

He thinks it's weird for a lifter to do hip thrusts (unless they are a woman)... I agree that people definitely look at it kind of strangely.

Though I have noticed something: the people who give you sideways looks are people who's opinion means nothing.

Why would they judge someone else for getting into shape?

It's like seeing an obese person trying to learn how to lift and getting angry that they would be in your gym when they look the way they do.

It's counter productive and downright wrong in my book.

Everyone should do what they think is right for themselves!

F Other people's opinions!

External opinions have always been a grudge of mine. They truly are just opinions and have no matter in our own lives.

Skate over them and pretend they don't exist. Because they have no tangibility in the real world and the people behind those false opinions are typically self-conscious of themselves in reality!

Hi @gallerani, i just stumbled across your account today! I totally agree, I struggled so much going to the gym constantly wondering what the hell people were thinking, it gets so much better when you realise that it doesn't matter at all what they think!!
