BE BRAVE WHEN AFRAID

Over the weekend, I don't know if any of us followed the live tweet saga of Rahaf Al Qunun. The 18yr old girl from Saudi Arabia that fled from her abusive family. She escaped during a family holiday to Kuwait and was trying to get to Thailand but got detained in Bangkok airport by order from Saudi government.

She was kept under security at the airport hotel while waiting to be deported back to Saudi, and she decided to start doing what millennial would do. She asked twitter to do "its thing" and get her help because she would be punished or worse, killed.

I guess she was tired of living under an abusive law according to her. She sparked a revolution for young ladies and women living under abusive laws and suffering from dominance by men.

I see in her a brave girl who got tired of living in the box society built for her and she took several steps to change that fact.

She had 2 countries interested in her case, the Australian government and the Canadian government. Both country reached out to her amd offered her asylum, but she opted for Canada. Today she landed in Canada to begin a new life.

Moral of the story:

• Never let society dictate your life. Do what is better for you and not what people say is good for you.

• Never let your dream die, there is always a way out if you open your mind and heart to it.

• In this present age and time, be careful how you use the media power you have. It can either make you or break you. Use the power you have positively, because whatever you throw to the universe will come back to you (karma).

• Be brave in the face of adversity and never let fear dominate your life. Bravery will take you to places where fear cannot.

I hope we learn from this and to us all, it is never too late to try, change they say is the only thing constant. Change your situation or circumstances today from bad to good. Be a good influence to people around you, you never know where help might come from, be good to everyone you meet on your way. Life is in phases, do not let yours get tangled or trampled upon.
