Rise Up...

Depression cannot exist on its own. Someone cannot ‘just’ be depressed. It starts from a point - that moment where a person begins to allow unhealthy thoughts and words take root in their emotion. Depression is a parasite that feeds well on your emotion before it is expressed through your actions.

Depression cripples your emotion and makes you get tired of you and of life; it allows you create a home for frustration that you become tired of yourself so much that they do not mind saying it or showing it by suicide.

Depression starts from that moment where you begin to feel that there is nothing you do that will work or make sense; and you find it easy to give up because you are afraid to feel ashamed. Let me tell you how this mounts up…there is an inner dialogue going on in each and every one of us. This dialogue is between our mind and our inner recesses. What you allow to take root from that dialogue will be expressed in its fruits.

In Genesis 8:22 the Bible makes it clear that there is a harvest for every seed. The passage reads in (NIV) “As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will not cease”. Somehow I strongly believe that this scripture actually reads ‘seed, time and harvest’. This is because just like cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night, there is always a period (time) when one gives way or translates into the other. With this in mind, when you plant your seed (a thought), and you allow it take root, it takes a process (time) before your see the result (harvest) of it. For someone to be depressed, he must have had a thought, action or word (seed) buried in the soil of his heart and he will constantly consciously or unconsciously water and nurture it over a period (time) for it to become what it has led to (harvest).

No man wakes up depressed, there is always a process and it begins from seed and then to time and then to harvest. When this happens for depression, it also happens for everything else in life. Everything takes time and time puts everything in place.
