Yes, there's a big difference between infatuation and being in love. It's a fact that almost everyone of us while growing up had at least an episode of having a crush on someone. It could have been anyone, anyone who tickled your immature fancy.

A friend once told me he used to have a crush on his English teacher when he was in primary school. Just imagine how long that crush must have stayed before the scales fell off his impressionable eyes.

Well, I'm definitely not left out. For me, having a crush on someone back then which later became a relationship felt like turning water to wine but the wine did not last. It changed back to water as soon as it hit the tongue because it was short lived and never could have lasted long.

Crush is the fancy name given to infatuation. A state at which you feel that you terribly love someone and your whole world just revolves around that person with little or no knowledge of who the person really is.

A crush is the emotional high that makes you feel you're 'falling in love' because of all the physiological hormones begging to be noticed in your body. When a relationship is based on this, it is clearly not going to go as far as it presumes or pretends it will travel.

It only takes you as far as the 'falling' gets and then the gravity of reality sets in, suddenly bringing everything to a halt and then you're left asking yourself what you were thinking in the first place. We often refrain from calling a crush just what it is - lust. Period!

I would say at this juncture however, that the falling-in-love-feeling is not entirely wrong, it is when it becomes the basis for starting a relationship/marriage.

The platform for love should be better. When a relationship starts off with "choosing to love", naturally sooner than imagined the persons involved will find themselves being in love with each other.

True love grows; it's not an accident. As today's verse shows, it flows out of the heart and then affects the body. It's not the other way round.Your body does not convince your heart; your heart convinces your body.

Love is a beautiful thing when it's launched on the right platform.

Those who follow a crush will rush out in no time but those who begin through a decision have found the right foundation, love's true platform.

**Dear friend, make good use of these things you're learning as the knowledge of these are the beginning of safe guarding your heart and your love life.
