200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training 🧘‍♀️

Heyy friends 👋🏻✨💛

Hope you had an amazing weekend and are feeling refreshed and ready to conquer the week!

A little bit of background...

Right after high school, I went right to work. I got a job at a construction consulting company as a receptionist in Manhattan. About 2 years later I was promoted to billing manager and head of our human resources department. It was an extremely stressful and unsatisfying job, but I got paid well and was VERY comfortable. As time went on, I noticed a lot of change in myself. I got irritated easily, I wasn't interested in doing anything after work, and life just became me waiting for the weekend and wishing my week sped by. My last 2 years there, things just got worse. My boss became greedy and arrogant and would make me feel so small. Like what I did was never good enough. This caused me to spiral into a deep depression. Something I dealt with a lot in my childhood but not in the last 6 years. A coworker of mine noticed this in me and decided to drag me to a yoga class, something I had never done and wasn't very interested in. At first, I thought it was all a bunch of hooey, but as the class went on, and as I allowed myself to be in the moment, everything seemed to just melt away. All the stress I was feeling, all the anxiety, and most importantly, I felt more connected to myself than I ever had in my entire life. I continued to practice yoga, almost every day on my lunch break. Yoga helped me more than anything else ever had. About 6 months before I left my job I decided that I wanted to help other people to feel the way I felt. To rediscover themselves, to gain confidence, and to believe that they can do anything they set their minds too.

I began my teacher training on February 3 of and completed it April 23, exactly 1 year ago today. Soon after completing my 200-hour yoga teaching certification, I left my comfortable, well paying job of 5.5 years to pursue something I was passionate about. It was a very bumpy transition filled with frustration, tears, and a lot of hard work, but I would not change a thing. My life today is 100% less stressful and 100% more satisfying and fulfilling.

For all of the people out there looking to take the next step, to make that leap of faith, GO FOR IT. Yes, it's scary. Yes, it will bring about discomfort and frustration. But you need all of those things to bring about real change.
