Well from the title I was concerned my bag lady had re-injured her ankle so I was so glad not to find that as the case. So you didn't make your destination on that day, big deal, it will be there the next time and you will be as well. Had you not made the decision to stay safe and return down when you did it might be that you may never have been in a position for another future trip.
Nothing wrong in being safe, it is a whole lot easier to swallow than being sorry you weren't.
