ALL I HAVE TO SAY ABOUT THE ORIGINALS

Some people believe vampires exists, but I'm sure majority of us don't. We don't want to imagine creatures growing teeth like bat, and having the speed of Superman. They were created by witches, so it shows how fictional they are. Last time I checked, a witch can only do some tricks to take life or protect herself. Or perhaps, they have the power to change a human into a super human. Well, if they exist or not isn't the reason for this post, the originals is a television series that should be talked about.

The originals were the first set of vampires created. They in turn created other vampires by giving them their blood and killing them. It's easy because ones the humans they kill resurrect, they become vampires. These first set were called originals not just because they were the first, they couldn't die too. Yes! They were immortals. A witch, Sarah Mikaelson was the originator of these creatures. He turned her children, five of them into original vampires, and at a point they got tired of living. Some of her children lived more than a thousand years.

Vampires weren't the only strange creatures that existed; there were witches, werewolves and hybrids. Werewolves changes into wolves and attacks like them. Most times, their changes occurs when there's a full moon. Hybrids have the powers of two of these creatures. An hybrid can either be a vampire and a werewolf, a vampire and a witch, or a witch and a werewolf. There were few of them, but they existed in this series. There was a super hybrid with all three powers, Klaus' child whom he loved dearly. Again, all these creatures were created by witches and this brings me to my first concern.

If ten witches fights with ten vampires, guess who would win? Or if the witches face ten werewolves? At a point, the witches were afraid of these creatures, people they made. Sometimes, they had to hide and do their magic. The witches should have been more powerful, but this series disagrees. A witch can curse a werewolf not to turn or have his power unless it's a full moon; a witch created another monster, a super original that defeated an original. If they could do these awesome and powerful things, why couldn't they defend themselves from them. Well, they put up a good fight sometimes, but the werewolves and vampires always win at the end. The witches even had the power to bring people back from the dead. They had lots of powers, but they are easily defeated. They don't even stand a chance against an original. I think they got it wrong here. The most powerful creature in the series should have been a witch, not the originals.

New Orleans was were almost every actions took place. The witches, werewolves, vampires, originals and hybrids all lived there. They always fought for who rules the city, but most of them still remained there even after the brutal killings. The city's burial ground was were the witches use for their meetings and deeds. Their ancestors lived there, so they couldn't leave because their abilities were very powerful there. There's something about the city causing everyone to stay. And the funny thing is, humans lived there too. In fact, the humans were more than other creatures, but they never knew those creatures existed. It's possible though. They might be living around us now without us knowing. But I still disconcur! Witches were always in the burial ground creating and distroying things with their powers, a burial ground were the humans also visited. I wondered why no human saw them. The vampires and werewolves had fought in the street and bars countless times, yet no human saw them. Although, the vampires can compel them to forget everything they saw or hear, but there wasn't a scene were humans saw them. The ones that did were only allowed to see them, and they got compelled afterwards.

Camille Cornell was the only lady able to figure out their existence. She wasn't sure, but she believed there was something special and wrong about some people. Everytime Klaus visited her, she would be compelled to forget everything including his face. She tried putting one and one together, but at the end she became a vampire too. I know the series was about these creatures, but the humans were made useless. It would have been more interesting if the humans fought too. The ones that knew about them were some policemen and politicians keeping the city safe. They just stayed away from them. They were simply afraid of them. It's our world, right? Well, it wasn't in the originals.

The movie didn't specify if the originals were faster than the hybrids and other vampires. We only knew they couldn't die. They should have at least explained why other creatures can't stand them in a combat. Elijah, Rebecca, Kol and Klaus never learned how to fight. If they did, we weren't told. Although they flung swords when they were young. Those self trainings didn't prove anything. But they defeated many vampires good in combat. There's only one explanation then; they were faster. Even if they were, being fast and being good in combat are two different things. The one better at it should win! The fighting scenes is a bit off.

Why it's still a good movie? The story line was explicit. Klaus and Elijah died at the end which was good. It would have been something else if they continued living. I came to love Klaus too, but the old man should have been dead. He died saving his daughter - it was a sad ending. We saw lots of unexpected death, betrayals and shockers. Trust me, this series will get you glued to the end.
