Intro - As the 75th Golden Globes winners were announced, Big Little Lies triumphed a total of 6 nominations and won 4 in the Limited Series or TV Film category. The miniseries consist of 7 episodes with each episode dealing with a certain kind of clue or dramatic event that leads up to that one significant murder. This show is based upon the New York Time bestseller written by Liane Moriarty. The book is set in Sydney, Australia but the show is set in Monterey, California. Although the settings are different, the concepts of wealth and power are very much similar. Both the book and the show discuss the themes of abuse, ex-husbands and second wives, a schoolyard scandal, and all range of lies and secrets we tell or share to protect another.

Plot - The story is about three women all having separate lives but eventually all winding up on the same path at the end. It all starts with a murder. The audience doesn't know who got murdered or who even did it. Then it goes back six months to Orientation Day for the incoming first graders where the lives of these moms are intertwined and connected, all through their children. The three main characters are: passionate and funny Madeline, beautiful and rich Celeste, and young single-mother Jane. Madeline is starting to get envious when her older daughter prefers to be with her ex-husband’s new wife than with her. Celeste seems to have it all but her home life is not pretty. Jane had a one-night stand that did not turn out the way she wanted it to and can’t trace back the father of her child. Jane’s kindergarten child, Ziggy, gets accused of bullying another little girl at Orientation Day. Everyone then gets wrapped into a murder.
