Iron Man

Rich and Smart.

It doesn't seem like ten years ago that I saw this in the cinema, but it was released in 2008. It is everything that you would expect when Hollywood take something like Iron Man comics, make a film from it, and most importantly do it well.



In case your not familiar with the story we have Tony Stark who is the son of Howard Stark. The inventor and creator of Stark Industries, Stark Industries is the best in the world at making weapons. Tony is every bit as smart as his father was and has a Billion dollar empire to fund his ambitions.

Initially his ambitions are to make better weapons and sell them to the US government, just like his father. Things change however after Tony demonstrates his latest weapon and is kidnapped in Afghanistan. He is held in cave, and invents a suit of armour utilising a miniature power source to enhance it's abilities.

Tony manages to escape the escape the cave, and decides to change the direction of the company. They no longer make weapons, his father's business partner warns that such a drastic change in direction could bankrupt the company. Tony however, begins work on a new suit regardless.

Tony learns that his "business" partner has sold Stark weapons to terrorists, and must now deal with him, but his business partner makes the first move and has also been heading up a team to build a bigger larger Iron Man which he plans to sell to various armed forces. So now the battle is on for his future and that of Stark Industries.
