Who wants to be Mr Pink?

Quentin Tarantino before he was picked up by Hollywood, it was before Pulp Fiction. This was released in 1992 and is about a "job" that a newly formed crew have agreed to do. A heist of diamonds from a jeweller's store.

We are introduced to the crew, the boss, and his son, all up eight men eating breakfast at a diner. Six of the eight are using aliases, these are Mr. Blonde, Mr. Blue, Mr. Brown, Mr. Orange, Mr. Pink, and Mr. White, who will be carrying out the heist, which the boss has planned and run through with them for weeks before hand.

Immediately after the heist, which didn't go according to plan, we have White and Orange fleeing the crime scene together, Orange has been shot in the stomach, they meet Pink at the rendezvous point. Pink believes that the cops were waiting and hence they were setup, this means that they have a rat or an undercover in the crew.

Blonde arrives next and is accused of being a psychopath for shooting civilians, Blonde tells White and Orange that Brown is dead, shot in the getaway. Blonde also has a surprise in the trunk of his car, in the trunk they find a uniform cop bound and gagged. Maybe they can extract information out of him and perhaps learn who could have set them up?

The film goes back to a few weeks before the heist and we learn who the undercover cop is in the group very early on. A portion of the film goes through what is involved in being a convincing undercover and how the crew need to be able to work together.

I won't describe too much more of the film for those that haven't seen it, it does have quite a few memorable scenes, and the soundtrack works very, very well with it. This isn't one that you won't want to watch with the sound turned down. I was lucky enough to see this on the big screen and become a Tarantino fan afterwards.
