🎥Movieanalisis90s🎬: "Terminator 2: Judgment Day"

in #movie6 years ago

“Three billion human lives ended on August 29th, 1997. The survivors of the nuclear fire called the war Judgment Day. They lived only to face a new nightmare: the war against the machines. The computer which controlled the machines, Skynet, sent two Terminators back through time. Their mission: to destroy the leader of the human resistance, John Connor, my son. The first Terminator was programmed to strike at me in the year 1984, before John was born. It failed. The second was set to strike at John himself when he was still a child. As before, the resistance was able to send a lone warrior, a protector for John. It was just a question of which one of them would reach him first.”
-Sarah Connor.

A post-apocalyptic future, the judgment day, a messiah that must be protected and two humanoid machines trying to destroy each other. one of the most iconic films of the action cinema of the 90s following the success of the first delivery but this time presenting the T-800 (Arnold Schwazennegger) as a hero (and not as a villain like a previus movie), and a new antagonist the T-1000 (Robert Patrick), added to a Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton) on steroids so to speak.

What is "Terminator 2: Judgment Day" about?

The movie starts showing us a future where Skynet (an artificial intelligence) has taken humanity to the brink of extinction being the few remaining humans center of resistance led by John Connor (Edward Furlong) son of the warrior Sarah Connor. Skynet to see that John turns out to be a difficult bone to crack uses his final weapon and sends the T-1000 through the time machine to eliminate the leader of the resistance when it was still a child in turn John sends a T-800 reprogrammed to protect it.

Now in the past (or actuality according to the movie) 1995 we find a John child being a rebel without cause and a Sarah interned in a mental sanatorium for his ideas of the day of judgment. Being the mission of T-800 to gather these and protect them.

CONCLUSION

the most impressive of this production apart special effects that are magnificent is the evolution of the characters showing us a John less rebellious and more adult and a T-800 with more human characteristics creating empathy with the humanoid creating a totally unexpected and emotional ending where the T-800 when finishing its mission to destroy the T-1000 decides to destroy itself so as not to leave any technology sample that could be used to read the creation of Skynet.

FINAL SCORE: 9/10

use personal criteria on everything that makes this work (script, camera, cast ... etc.), but especially the message that leaves us, a simple story but full of emotional moments and unforgettable characters.
If you got to this point I hope you enjoyed this analysis even more than me when writing it, obviate many important things in the plot so that those who have not seen it run to look at it.
